In many of the native American cultures the Magpies were viewed primarily as an ally and helper to humans. They were respected for their lack of fear and intelligence as well. Great depiction!
Magpies are really characters. We don't have them here but when I lived on the Prairies, where there are lots, I've watched them a number of times mercilessly tease and torment cats with no fear whatsoever!
