This has the hallmarks of charcoal, and graphite The detail is so fine its hard to tell. The background is really the only texture that implies charcoal. Beautiful detail and wonderful light.

The *so fine* is looking like one of Lightning's trademarks.  This is one of the early belnding experiements with the essential directions being: [ charcoal and pencil academic drawing, realism style, ]

I am quite drawn to how far we can go with lighting on the realistic illustration side, while not attempting to bring through its photographic qualities. Meaning *not* including a "photorealism" direction.

Each attempt impresses in its own manner. The close up of the Cat is stunning. Then going for refined, intentionally graphite, details with Batman and the Raccoon. And for classic portraits there is always the Middle Earth characters like Legolas to bring through.  In no instance have I witnessed Lightning falling down. I no longer see a need for testing but explorring.

Testing - Exploring, it's all exciting as far as I'm concerned. Every now and then I throw something at Lightning and it surprises me with how flexible it is. I'm trying out different artists, I quite like the caricatures it creates when I use 'Tim Burton style' in the prompt. But also the subtle differences in watercolour style differentiating between Brian Froud and John Singer Sargent styles. It's hopeless if you ask for 'waterolour' by itself, but if you ask for a specific artist's style of watercolour it's much better. Still super detailed, but I guess if I want less detail I'll have to find n artist to reference. I wonder how it will do with Turner?🧐

I think the hardest thing going forward, is getting the 'look' right in the earliest iterations, before the ai spits the dummy and starts adding extra legs! I've noticed that after three or four re-runs of a prompt, Lightning starts to produce deformities and extra limbs. Like its tired of the same prompt.
