Gods are mostly remembered for their great contributions to the world, creation, and for their meddling in the lives of mortals, people thought of as the Gods’ instruments and greatest creations. This was universally true for most… save for a Druid named Vesimir- all he hoped was to do his duty and serve the wild mother- the patron goddess of nature. To be remembered wasn’t as important to him…

Through his journeys, Vesimir has met many- many other Rangers, and powerful people. Mages, lords, generals, mayors, landlords, and many more have enlisted or been on the receiving end of Vesimir’s Ranger abilities. This, as it turns out, shall be entirely integral to his story… 

However, today, what is important is that you know Vesimir is dead. He sacrificed himself for a greater good which he believed in wholeheartedly. To save friends, he made the ultimate sacrifice. Light faded from his vision, and all went quiet. A sudden warmth wrapped through his mind in his final moments on the mortal plane…

Nothing- black and voidlike, consumed all and everything around him for what must have seemed like eons until Vesimir comes to, at least in some form… glancing around him he can now see this inky nothingness all around him. He strains his eyes, in the pitch blackness. He can see nothing, not even his own hands in front of his face. Is this death? Near nothingness for all time? Surely it couldn’t be. Vesimir knew the gods existed, and surely there must be an afterlife therefore? 

Vesimir began to think, to contemplate… and then to pray, to his patron goddess, The Wild Mother.  

“Wildmother, guide my soul to the afterlife I have earned. Leave me not in this nothingness… I pray as a servant of all the wilds of my continent…”

Out of this darkness, shon through his lidded eyes there’s a flash of blue light. He opens them slowly, glancing about he sees still that thick inky nothing, until he… sees it. Something.
