When will they learn? Another wrong assumption: They believed this desert was lifeless.... just another stretch of dust under a dead sky. But then the ground began to glow, and something beneath the sand started breathing.
Instead of a sunrise, the reality scattered and broke, a rift opened: not a tear in space, but in memory. Fractal strands of light pulsed from beneath the surface, weaving into the sky like roots searching for a star that wasn’t there. Instruments failed. Signals looped. And every person on-site reported the same hallucination:
They heard a heartbeat that wasn’t their own.
No radiation. No heat spike. No decay signature. Only resonance. The Echo isn’t expanding...it’s awakening. And whatever waits beyond this Rift… is crossing over.
This wasn’t an anomaly.
