The reality behind this: This Bond, Jimmy Bond, really existed. He was American, not British. As a stage play for TV. He's not part of the movie franchise, though, thus this scene was never filmed. It was filmed though for another movie. Which is the quiz question.

When a 007 Bond dies, their number and name goes to another agent. Thus, originally, the first Bond movie already opened with a Bond's death: That of played by Barry Nelson in 1954 on TV.

The reason, this Bond is less than vaguely known,  even though he heroicly saved Earth, besides that the producers decided to cut this scene, lies in the cause of death: the tangent universe. It makes most people forget what happened in a time loop.
