The Tuatha Dé Danann, or Tribe of Danu, were a powerful race of godlike beings in Irish mythology, named after the mysterious goddess Danu. Masters of magic and war, they arrived in Ireland from mystical northern lands, shrouded in mist. After burning their ships to ensure no retreat, they defeated the Fir Bolg and later clashed with the monstrous Fomorians. Though victorious, they were eventually overthrown by the mortal Milesians and retreated into the Otherworld, becoming Ireland’s hidden fae-like spirits.
