Welcome to the latest edition of Famous Art Made New, the game that makes fun of the irrational fear that AI is stealing artwork!
How to Play: Enter identifying info about a famous piece of art -- title, author, date and bare bones info on the type of work -- into your prompt. Don't bother with more info or a starter image, because we want this to be a fair test. Then let AI do its thing.
Afterwards you compare what AI gives you with what the real-life artwork looks like. Most of the time the two won't look that similar. Occasionally there will be some similarities. Art that is huge in the public consciousness might look close, but those pieces probably have hundreds of real-world copies and homages as well. That's what art does.
