Dad said if you spend enough time in the mountains, you'll eventually find something extraordinary.
I figured he meant a good sledding hill.
I was halfway through building the world's tiniest snowman when the snowbank beside me blinked.
Turns out it wasn't a snowbank.
It was a baby Yeti.
He stared at my snowman.
I stared at him.
Neither of us seemed entirely sure who was supposed to be surprised.
Patches was nowhere to be found. I later discovered he'd climbed the nearest tree in the name of "careful observation."
The little Yeti poked the snowman, smiled, and immediately decided we were best friends.
Dad always said the greatest discoveries happen when you're busy looking for something else.
Looking back... I probably should've realized snowbanks don't usually have eyebrows.
