An Incandescent Meeting of the Minds. 1882.

After Thomas Edison received his patent for his incandescent lightbulb in 1880, word spread quickly of this technological marvel like moths to a flame. The Mothman, while notorious for the leathery flap of his wings heard far and wide in the night, was just as equally known for his inquisitive and genius mind. Depicted in this photograph here is the first of many visits the Mothman made to Edison's laboratory, gaining knowledgeable insights for his own experiments. Edison begrudgingly doled out his discoveries little by little to the Mothman for fear of physical or legal retaliation, but he was later quoted stating: "I've come to respect that creature of the night, though you must be careful not to forget a jacket or other article of clothing in his presence. You will certainly not get it back."
