The Dark Side of the Australian DreamTime - The Rainbow Serpent

A group of travellers mocked a sacred site near a waterhole.
They didn’t listen when Elders warned them not to camp there.
That night, the earth opened.
The Rainbow Serpent rose—not in rainbow hues but in obsidian scales, rimmed with red—and swallowed them whole.
All that was left behind were twisted trees and a stillness no birds ever broke again.
Some say you can still hear them crying if you sleep too close to that place
