Very interesting to read.I didn't know about their defects before " made by humans".Now I'm happy that I not decided to have them.My parents have 6 wonderful "Swedish flower chickens "this year.Beautiful birds.

People, for the sake of their own whims, have bred monstrosities (the word is a little too strong) to cater to their warped ideals. Pugs, Pekinese and Peke-face Persians whose eyes protrude; dogs and cats bred to be  brachycephalic (flat-faced) with difficulty breathing, among other problems; and any animal bred for show appearances outside war is normal is wrong. The animals are the ones who suffer, not the breeders who can charge a very high price to fuel their greed and people's vanity. (I have difficulty seeing properly to text but I feel VERY strongly about this matter.)

I am sorry I didn't see the link until just now. I have been around a couple of chickens with the feather "hats", but I wasn't aware they were bred that way.
