Eshu (Èṣù)—the dark, chaotic, and supreme trickster god of Yoruba mythology—and the Ìmàdò (the wild warthog/bush pig), which symbolizes the untamable, destructive, and chaotic underbelly of the forest.
In Yoruba lore, Eshu is the lord of the crossroads, uncertainty, and accidents. He is not "evil," but he is a dark, shadow-working trickster who uses chaos to force humans to grow. When Eshu wants to disrupt human ego or punish hunters for their arrogance, he often manifests or commands the Ìmàdò (the warthog) or Túrùkú (the fierce bush pig) to tear up farms, create havoc, and evade hunters through mystical shape-shifting.
