LOL!  Mind, I had a proper bike, not very big, but not a stepthru.  I think it was the milliput which really did the trick - I'm well aware of milliput as I'm a modeller.  I make things like 1/12 scale dolls house ornaments, china shepherdesses, cryselephantine figures and so on, using N to O gauge railway figures as the bases. I suspect the joint would have held just with the milliput, but I said to Ishaak, you can never have too much duct tape. 

Tubs of mastic clenched between your knees wouldn't have worked on a proper bike.  Not that it worked here either 🫣
