10) The Asphodel Grove [contextual concept piece #7]

As civil war breaks out in the Herculean System, and as Ithax prepares to use his weaponized fleet of Heliosites to destroy Sedna, the next planet in line, a tiny squad of guerilla upstarts, led by Ouranian blue Calypso, heroically manages to collect a few suckers from Sedna's Ancestral Tree of Life. They take their precious cargo to a secret underground facility in Ogygia. There, under Calypso's guidance, they bioengineer a hybrid tree with a nearly impermeable titanium trunk and pairs of extendible scissor arms that can pluck fruits and deliver them to a towering tree whose massive mortars will propel them into space.

When the first phase of their mission ends, that same intrepid group of entities—styling themselves the 'Asphodel Gang,' a bulwark against the forces of darkness--continues to stand guard over a remarkable grove of life-bestowing trees.
